The Installation

Step 1: Mount the Altricity Jump Starter

Installation in the Engine Bay:

For maximum performance and reliability, the Altricity Jump Starter is designed to be installed in the vehicle's engine bay within reach of the battery using the supplied 10 AWG cables.

Choose a flat, clean surface. This could be next to the car's battery, fuse box or a suitable location in the engine bay away from direct heat and moving parts (belts, fans). Place and mount the unit at the location you have determined securely using adhesive tape, fasteners, or brackets as appropriate.

Installation in other locations

If no suitable location is available in the engine bay:

  1. Select an alternate location agreed upon with the vehicle owner (e.g., glove box, under seats, or trunk).
  2. Measure the total cable length required to reach the battery.
  3. Upgrade the power cable to the correct gauge per the Wire Sizing Guide on page 16.
  4. Cut the supplied 10 AWG wire down to roughly 2 inches and solder and heat-shrink the additional length of 8 AWG wire to the Altricity Jump Starter unit.
  5. Route the cables securely to the battery compartment.
  6. Terminate with appropriate ring connectors and secure to the battery posts.
